I've been looking for a storage container for my potatoes, onions and garlic for a long time, and these fit the bill perfectly! The onion one is smaller than I would have liked though and the potato bin is huge! I actually switched the two instead, I use the large bin for onions and the medium for fingerling potatoes. I pulled them out of the box and they were dirty, so as they stated they were dishwasher safe, I put them in and pressed start. Imagine my horror when I pull the bins out and notice that the vintage writing is squished, rubbed off, non existent! I now have PTTOES, Oions, Garic and some of the other words are gone as well. This could have at least been glazed on instead of a vinyl decal or instead do not put dishwasher safe on your packaging!!
I would recommend buying them, but HAND WASH ONLY! Wish I would have known that before I popped them in and wasted $89. I'm still using them, but I'm thinking about using a razor blade to take off the rest of the lettering and just having them be blank.

I purchased the trio of large (Potatoes), medium (Onions), and small (Garlic) canisters. They were somewhat larger than I expected, so do pay attention to the dimensions; they are, however, nicely glazed and as attractive as pictured. They feel rather light for their size, which means that they are easily transported but may be fragile. My only disappointment thus far is that they are labeled "Dishwasher Safe" on the bottoms; but when I ran the small canister through the dishwasher, some of the lettering was lost. My canister now reads "GARLI", and the word "California" and the year "1918" also were stripped off.
The ceramic itself may be dishwasher safe, but the adhesive lettering is not.

I ordered these as a set. So, I figured that they would all be produced around the same time. These look really nice individually. The large container easily holds a five pound bag's worth of potato, and the other two are also good sizes. They hold plenty of each item. They look really lovely sitting on the counter, and their weight and finish feel nice (not like some of the really cheap light weight ceramic you can find). My one complaint so far is that the canisters do not look as uniform as I would like. My small garlic canister has a lable that is kindof a lighter brown/red color, and a mainly creamy colored finish, with just a touch of brown "distress" marks on it. The Onion container has a very dark, almost black lable, and a very distressed lid, virtually no distressing on the canister it's self. The large potato container has the darker label like the onion canister, but there is a lot more distressing all over it. Like I said, it is a very small disappointment. I am over all very pleased with the product so far. I just wish that there was a more consistantly distressed look across the three different canisters.
